Carrying System & Balance

The robust yet flexible strap system made of high-quality leather is designed for all-day use. Wide shoulder straps distribute the weight evenly; a stable back connection (spider) serves as a central anchor point and prevents slipping or swinging. Through precise screw connections (Chicago Screws), the strap length, holster height, and angle can be precisely adjusted to stature and body size – whether standing, sitting (e.g., in a vehicle), or during quick access, the position remains stable.

Holster Body & Retention

The holster body, made from approximately 3.2 mm thick cowhide, is wet-formed to precisely fit the contours of the H&K SFP9 VP9A1K. This creates a play-free, quiet fit (passive retention). Compared to hard shell materials, the interior leather protects the surface finish and allows for a noise-free draw/holster process. The open muzzle design allows for use with a threaded barrel or compensator and prevents the accumulation of dirt or water. The length is tailored to the compact K version and closes flush – for maximum concealability.

Active Retention & Access

A snap button strap serves as active retention. The button is ergonomically positioned so that it can be intuitively released during the grip build-up; the release is quick and controlled. The retention encourages conscious finger placement before drawing and reliably protects against unintentional removal.

Care & Storage

For lasting shape stability, lightly treat with colorless leather balm or fat (e.g., beeswax-based) and polish dry after application. Remove light dirt with a soft, dry cloth. Store dry and well-ventilated; avoid direct sunlight or heating.

Holster Expansion (Fine Adjustment with Kettle)

Leather reacts to heat and moisture and can be shaped specifically:

• Heat water in a kettle and briefly expose the rising steam to the inside of the holster until the leather becomes slightly malleable (do not soak).
• Wrap the unloaded pistol in a thin plastic bag to protect it from moisture.
• Firmly insert the pistol into the warmed holster, draw/holster cleanly several times until the contours fit snugly.
• Allow to cool and dry completely at room temperature with the weapon inserted. This permanently shapes the contours – for secure hold and smooth draw.

  No. This holster is specifically dimensioned in length for the compact K version (SFP9 VP9A1K). Longer models would protrude at the bottom and impair the vertical carrying concept.
• Is the carrying system also available for left-handers?

• Does the holster need to be "broken in"?
  Wet-formed leather holsters are often tight initially. Helpful: wrap the unloaded weapon in a thin plastic bag and leave it inserted for about 24 hours to gently relieve the fit – alternatively see holster expansion with kettle.
